"Frankie, I love that you’re doing this rock thing, which is just rare these days, especially for a girl. You sounded absolutely beautiful, and it was incredible." - Gwen Stefani

FAQ: Why did you choose Gwen?

I chose Gwen because I love No Doubt, she seemed to be the coach closest to my genre, and I appreciated how she was protective of female rockers.

FAQ: Was it scary?

The Blind Auditions were terrifying!  Most of the contestant including myself blacked out to some degree because of how stressful it was.

FAQ: Why did you choose this song?

I have always been a big fan of Heart and the Wilson sisters. There is not a lot of female representation in rock music. I chose Magic Man over say Barracuda because I loved the slow, bluesy nature of the song.

The Blind Auditions

Frankie sang "Magic Man" by Heart for her blind audition. She got all four coaches to turn their chairs for her. After being fought over by the coaches, she chose to be on Gwen Stefani's team.

FAQ: Did you really have no idea what would happen?

We did not know at all if we would get a chair turn or not. I had a hunch that if I were to get a chair turn it would be at the end of my song so that made my performance even scarier!

The Battles

Frankie was paired against fellow powerhouse and best friend Gabrielle Zabosky for the battle round. They sang the Bishop Briggs version of "Never Tear Us Apart".

FAQ: How was it working with Gwen Stefani? How much time did you really spend with her?

Gwen was such a sweetheart! She was gorgeous and mostly gave advice about stage presence and emoting during our song. We were with her for about 3o minutes. At one point, Gabby and I got to chat with Gwen off camera while they band was figuring out part of our song!

FAQ: How close were you and Gabrielle really? How did you split up the song?

Gabby and I first met during Blind Auditions. After arriving on one of the last days i was nervous about making friends, but Gabby pulled me into her group and assured me that I had found my people. We were so excited to be paired together, and we still talk to each other daily since leaving the show.

Frankie sang "You and I" by Lady Gaga for her Knockout Round; however, her performance was never aired on the show. Click below to watch a rehearsal of her performance!

FAQ: Why was your performance not aired?

Genuinely, I don't know. There was no scandal or drama, it is just the way things turned out. It is disappointing but at the end of the day, I am proud of my performance and got amazing feedback from the coaches (it was my best performance on the show in my opinion!)

FAQ: What was it like working with Reba and Jennifer Hudson?

It was incredible meeting two huge stars at once! Reba gave me amazing advice about selling the story through stage presence and emotions. Jennifer was so sweet, she kept complimenting my range and powerful vocals!

thank you for supporting independent artists :)
